Mindy Phillips Lawrence is the author of the poetry collection, One Blue Star: Poems about the Military, Families, War and Peace and co-author of The Complete Writer: Tapping Your Full Potential. Her work is published by Red Engine Press (www.redenginepress.com). One of her poems from One Blue Star was selected and performed by That Uppity Theater Company in St. Louis as part of “Peace Out” in 2004. Mindy was one of five Missouri women writers recently interviewed by Melissa Block of NPR’s “All Things Considered” about the 2006 mid-term elections.
Mindy has had articles published in several magazines, including Writer’s Digest. Mindy has been a speaker at several writers events. She speaks on various topics such as “How to Write a Good Press Release” and “Using Meditation Techniques to Improve Your Writing.”
She holds a Bachelors in Secondary Education with specialization in art and minors in English and library science.
Mindy is assistant editor at Scribe and Quill (www.scribequill.net) and contributing writer at Yarnspinners and Wordweavers.
Mindy teaches resume writing and interviewing skills for the State of Missouri. She is also a publicist who promotes the work of other writers by writing press releases, assembling media kits and setting up signings and speaking engagements.
Mindy is also the literary agent for Dr. Dan Skelton's work.
